In the second part of the EOTO anti-slavery even

ts were presented to us. Events that were talked about for anti-slavery were; Emancipation Proclamation, Underground Railroad, election of Lincoln and the Missouri Compromise. The Underground railroad was ran by Harriet Tubman. She was a former slave who was a big part in helping over 100,00 slaves escape from their owners/plantations. Another event, the Emancipation Proclamation, was delivered by President, at the time, Abraham Lincoln on January 1st, 1863. The main goal of this speech was to deliver his executive order that all slaves in all portions of the United States free. The information presented this day in class was very informative and will be beneficial to me as I write my midterm essay.
