In this presentation given to us by our classmates, they discussed important events that were pro-slavery and anti-slavery. These power points were very informative and helpful. They furthered my understanding and knowledge of certain events that happened in the slavery era, good and bad. Some events discussed in the pro-slavery presentation include; Bleeding Kansas, The Civil War, Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, and the Lecompton Kansas Nebraska Act. The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 states that any runaway slaves that were in the territory of the US were allowed to be captured and returned to their owners. These laws were some of the most controversial of the 19th century.
